ABOUT ME
I'm Tiffany Hughes Shiver, a Northville, Michigan–based residential interior designer drawn to spaces that feel both beautifully considered and genuinely lived-in.
I founded THUS Interiors after a legal career that sharpened my instincts for detail, organization, and anticipating what people need before they think to ask — instincts that translate naturally into design work.
My sensibility was shaped over years of hands-on renovation and design for the full complexity of real family life — learning firsthand how to honor a home's original architecture while making it work for the way people live today,
I hold a Certificate in Residential Interior Design from the Rhode Island School of Design, a law degree from Fordham University, and a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Florida. I am an ASID Allied Professional and a member of the Interior Design Society.
A South Florida native, I've called New York City, Cincinnati, and now Northville home. When I'm not designing, you'll find me with my husband and two sons, working on my latest needlepoint project, cheering loudly for my favorite football and basketball teams, or attending to the endless and deeply unreasonable demands of my two very opinionated dogs.
Why I Design
I didn't come to interior design from a showroom. I came to it from life.
Over the years I've renovated and designed homes in many styles, and helped clients through the moves that reshape a life — a new house, a growing household, a step toward something smaller and simpler. That work taught me something I carry into every project: a home isn't just a backdrop. It's where your family grows, where you rest, where you reset. When it works, it makes everything else a little easier. When it doesn't, you feel it every day.
Good design should do more than look beautiful. It should fit the way you actually live and evolve as your life does. It should be honest about budget, flexible in scope, and built around your real life — not a version of it that exists only on a mood board.
That's the work I'm here to do. Whether you need a full-service partner, a consultant you can trust, or a single afternoon of focused guidance, every client and every space gets the same depth of knowledge, care, and commitment.
